The Sacred …The Infinite…The Elegant Intellect Define Zeidan’s Art Trilogy

The Newest Elected Member of The “World Art Hall of Fame for April 2003”

 I am debating with her lines…I am flirting with the unseen shapes, forms of forms and thoughts hiding in the pure simplicity of each  sweet and rebellious stroke and behind the screaming of  waves of emotions she caresses and rejects on her canvases…this is why, there is no beginning and no end in her painting. Look at them, look again at each one of them, pick one painting and talk to it, do not be afraid, be brave, touch the painting softly and with dignity…you will begin to feel the painting breathing over your hands…this is the beginning of your love affair with Salwa’s painting…and then you ask the painting about “her” name…and the painting will tell you” I don’t have a name…give me a one”. And this will hit you like the strokes of Salwa, because you thought that every painting in the world must have a name. But, this is very different with Salwa Zeidan paintings, for the sacred, the infinite and the elegant define her art trilogy, and you do not dare to go beyond that…and give to her painting only one name… her painting grows on you. It constantly changes and breathes around you.

 

 

 

God’s truth,  I see a lot of goodness, beauty of the heart and integrity in the face of Selwa Zeidan, and this make my heart rejoice. I see a lot of welcoming space, escaping elegance and serene intelligence in her paintings, and this stimulates my mind. I look one more time at Salwa Zeidan paintings, and I begin to fantasize…and I begin to create a scenario that allows me to invite on the set three very different people; A Zen Buddhist monk from Katmandu , a de Givenchy’s designer  from Faubourg Saint Honore  and an amoroso with a broken heart from Capri.

  I will ask them to sit right there in front of Salwa’s paintings and tell me what they see and what they feel.

They did!

  And here is what they said to me. The Parisian sophisticated designer said: ”I see a very classy, refined and elegant style. The perfect signature for top of the line design”. The monk sees it differently, he said: “I understand and  witness depth, I transcend space, I free my mind with joy upon looking at Zeidan’s art, a great sense of tranquility.” The Italian amoroso said :” I feel strongly exploding emotions, fury, implosion and uncommon sensuality.” My friends, don’t try to go further…don’t try to cross  the bridge of delightful  illusions, visions and lost words…to find more words, more visions, more illusions to describe Salwa Zeidan’s art, because you have heard it before:” This is very different with Salwa Zeidan’s paintings, for the sacred, the infinite and the elegant define her art trilogy, and you do not dare to go beyond that…”  Salwa Zeidan is one of the finest and most accomplished artists I have seen and written about in a decade.

 

I just learned from Dr. Gisele Muller-Anderson, Publisher of the World Art Celebrities Journal and Dr. Gisele von Gutunbergersen, Executive Director of the International Center for the Study of Progressive Neo Cubism that Salwa Zeidan has been nominated by the readers of the journal and elected by the WACJ International Art Committee as the newest member of the “World Art Hall of Fame for April 2003.” Ms. Zeidan, as the French would say: Chapeau!!
